Alison McDonough is a licensed mental health counselor who has worked in the mental health field since 2016, beginning her career as a case manager serving individuals living with serious mental illness and addiction issues. Alison earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Florida and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from The Pennsylvania State University. Alison later completed her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Capella University in 2023.
Alison works with adolescents (13+) and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, bipolar disorder, trauma, self-esteem concerns, shame, addiction issues, and life transitions. Alison’s approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and genuine curiosity about each client’s unique experiences. Alison strives to create a nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore challenges, gain deeper insight, and build meaningful change.
Alison believes that every individual has inherent strengths and the capacity for growth. Alison’s role is to support and empower clients as they develop greater self-understanding, overcome obstacles, and move toward living a more authentic and fulfilling life.
