Brittany Wentzel, MFTI
Marriage and Family Therapy Intern

Brittany is a Marriage and Family Therapy intern with Capella University. She works with individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, relationship challenges, parenting struggles, and life transitions.
Becoming a parent inspired Brittany’s path toward therapy and shaped her belief that people are more than their problems. She understands distress as often emerging from relational patterns, life experiences, and broader systemic influences—not as personal failures, but as adaptive responses that once served a purpose. She views growth and healing as a process of strengthening every part of the self—mind, body, and spirit—to support greater wholeness, agency, and connection.
Before pursuing her graduate degree, Brittany worked in Florida’s child welfare system, supporting caregivers and families involved in the dependency process. These experiences deepened her appreciation for the power of safety, compassion, and being truly seen—values that continue to guide her clinical work. Brittany believes meaningful change occurs within a collaborative and emotionally safe therapeutic relationship, where clients can explore their emotional experiences with vulnerability, curiosity, and self-compassion. Through increased awareness and emotional processing, clients are supported in developing new perspectives, beliefs, and ways of relating to themselves and others.
Brittany draws from experiential approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and the Satir Growth Model, integrating mindfulness and body awareness informed by her background as a yoga instructor since 2017. Her warm, collaborative presence invites clients to explore themselves and their relationships with openness and curiosity, fostering balance, connection, and authentic healing.
